At this year’s National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA) conference in Portland, Oregon, HINESAD won the prestigious Phil Freelon Professional Design Award for designing the African American Memorial at Bates M. Allen Park. The design jurors noted the importance of reparative justice projects across the Diaspora. This project amplifies the contributions of Fort Bend County, Texas, historic African American residents and traditions.
